Our first official act was to put a fresh coat of antifouling on each other and try to get some on the boat too. We then launched our new home and the adventure (and learning) began.
Our dream since we married has always been to retire early and "sail away". We did that in 1997 purchasing a 1983 Nauticat Motorsailer (a cutter-rigged ketch) in the Pacific NW which we christened SOJOURNER. She became our home and led us to exciting places these past 11 years including the incredible San Juan Islands of Washington state, the Canadian Gulf Islands, southeast Alaska, and an awesome trip down the west coast out the Straits of Juan de Fuca to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where we spent 5 winter seasons. It was an experience of a lifetime in a dream sailboat which we'd like to share with you through our photography.
We are hoping to move on to yet another adventure with the purchase of a touring motorcycle so stay tuned!
